I discovered Oceanside over 30 years ago when I bought a piece of property here. I was building homes in Los Angeles at the time and I purchased a piece of Oceanside property “site unseen”. When I finally did go down to check out my investment, I immediately fell in love with this sleeping little beach town.

The Oceanside properties reminded me of the town I grew up in, Santa Monica, CA. There were just a few major differences between the two. Oceanside has a real boat harbor, and you don’t have to climb down a 250′ cliff to get access to the beach. The feature that attracted me the most was the surf. It is unbelievable. It is one of the best surfing beaches in Southern California. Oceanside has the surf that Santa Monican’s can only dream of. Be it no surprise to find out that the World Class Surfing and Body Boarding contests are hosted here. Oceanside is also home to the longest wood fishing pier on the west coast. I didn’t realize at the time how great these Oceanside properties really were.

I have seen this little town go through a lot of changes in the past 30 years, from a Canadian company wanting to build 11-story business towers, to Watt Industry wanting to develop 360 acres in to a master planned beach community, to a group from Chicago wanting to develop six square blocks down at the beach. When I arrived in Oceanside there was a building moratorium on beach property and I assisted in successfully lifting the moratorium. Beautiful beach homes started homes started to be constructed which was a pleasant to behold after so many years of restrictions. Oceanside property owners were finally able to develop their Oceanside properties to its highest and best use.

I also helped get the Oceanside properties in front of the pier approved far a hotel, a convention center, and for commercial development. This property has now been built in to a 5-star resort hotel with luxurious restaurants and a beach front pool area. The two blocks next to the hotel resort property in Oceanside has been built in to a 16-plex state of the art movie theater along with new restaurants and shops to go along with it. There are many sub-divisions under construction in the beach community and also a lot of Oceanside properties that have been developed already. There is beautiful state of the art timeshare units that have been built right next to the harbor which attracts vacationers from all over the united states. It has taken a lot longer than anticipated for this little beach town to reach its potential, but it is finally happening and getting ready to escalate.

You may not remember when you could have bought a piece of property in Marina Del Rey for $27,000 but I do, and you don’t want to be saying the same thing about Oceanside properties. The fact is that this beach town is booming and things are only going to happen here bigger and faster. You don’t want to let the opportunity of a lifetime pass you up. In my opinion, as a Oceanside real estate agent for more than 30 years, properties for sale in Oceanside are the least expensive under developed beach property in California with the highest potential. There is a golden opportunity out here with Oceanside properties and like I said before you don’t want to let this one pass you by, you will probably never experience this again.
