Is now a good time to invest in an income property? If not, when will be?
I’m thinking about a beach area in southern california with a good rental market. I’m pretty confident about the income part, but I would be concerned about depreciation.
If you are buying for the long term, your investment will not depreciate. Buy in a desirable, stable area where properties are in demand most years. If your property gives you a positive cash flow, you have no downside risk looking ahead at least seven years.
