Gran Ventana or Blue Bay Villas in Puerto Plata?

I am contemplating on going to either Gran Ventana or Blue Bay Villas in Puerto Plata. Based on your experience or comments from friends and relatives, which resort is better in terms of the beach, service, food and activities?

The difference between them is obvious : Blue Bay is a adult only resort, so the essential is that it is more quiet. Gran Ventana is very good, but is a family resort. Both are located almost side by side on the same beach in Playa Dorada. The service in both is excellent, but if you prefer a more “sophisticated” service go to Blue Bay.
I’m living in Puerto Plata and operating for both resorts.
