Are there any inexpensive Florida beach vacation rentals?
3 kids + cat and $400 a week beach vacation budget, is it possible? Any ideas?
We tried home exchange but most people think twice before accepting a family with 3 kids, or we usually end up in a “less desired” areas. Could anyone suggest any other ways to have a decent beach vacation on a super tight budget?
Consider finding a vacation rental off the beaten path or with no direct ocean view. You will find that those property owners are more flexible, plus they do not have their hands tied with heavy hurricane insurance costs and/or special property tax assessments for being oceanfront. We recently stayed in St Augustine NE Florida, only one block to the beach yet in town, for around $499 per week + tax and cleaning, I think the website is: http://vacationrentalsflorida.us Even within the same area we found that prices vary drastically and rates are almost double as you get closer to Jacksonville Beach. Smaller towns are nicer to be in to begin with so the premiums for popular destinations are not justified in my eyes.
