A small resort in Europe, near the beach/sea but with historic monuments nearby?
Going on holiday abroad next year, but have no idea where to go! I want somewhere nice and quiet, not too many people or tourists around, maybe a nice villa, with lots of sights nearby. Has to be in Europe and I’d really love it to be near the sea, oh, and nice weather as well 
. I was thinking maybe Spain or Italy but I want somewhere quite unique?
Any one have any ideas for regions/countries/places I could go?

In Spain, very beautiful coastal towns are Sitges, Antequera and Ibiza, the main city of the Ibiza island.
I also know that there are stunning places on the Adriatic, like Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia and Budva in Montenegro. I see some pics and they look very nice!
The Côte D’Azur in France (the French Riviera) is also beautiful.
