Home Wedding?
My fiancee and I are considering renting a villa in Orlando for our ceremony and reception. Should we have the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors? At what time of day? How should I decorate? And how would we enertain everyone?
We are considering this villa: http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-1018.aspx
Does anyone have any unique ideas as to how we can have the ceremony and reception here?
I forgot to add that we will provide the food – either for a BBQ or some finger foods like sub platters, chips and dip, ect.
We would have 20 guests.
Most of our guests live around the area – the villa is for us and our guests who don’t live in Florida, so sleeping arrangements are taken care of.
The home is beautiful and should work nicely for a wedding with 20 guests!
One idea for the wedding ceremony itself is to have it out at the pool! I suggest building a “deck/walk” over the pool for you and your fiance to stand so that everyone can see while standing around the pool. You would be the cetner of attention this way. Throw some floating candles and tropical flowers in the pool and voila-instant atmosphere!
Also, not sure what time you are thinking of everything taking place, but I also read where the Disney fireworks are visable at this home. You could have it timed where the ceremony got finished in time to have the fireworks seen before the reception begins. Or, make sure that your guests are all outside furing the reception when it’s time for the fireworks!
I would go all out tropical for your decorations, etc! You are in a tropical paradise type setting, use that! Have fresh leis for your guests to wear, or even for the mothers instead of coursages!
I would have food that is tropical inspired and drinks as well! Think… Classy but tropical at the same time!
You could have the ceremony outside and then have the food prepared inside on a lovely buffet style table! Decorated lavishly with tropical flowers and citrus fruits for more color of course!
This page has some great pics and ideas:

Or you could go more Latin inspired:

Whatever you choose, I would go with something that compliments the surrounding area and culture! You want your wedding and it’s theme to fit in the area and be FUN and memorable!
