What is the best lodging location on Molokai island?
My hubby & I are planning a week long overdue honeymoon in August 2007 on Molokai and are looking for knowledge and tips on the best part of the island to rent lodging. We would love a private beach front and beautiful view. Thanks for your info!
my in-laws live on molokai, i spent a couple of weeks there with them, back in 1991, i also was stationed in hawaii when i was in the marines and did a lot of training there
i can tell you that Molokai is very small, there aren’t really any resorts that im aware of , i think the population there is about 2000. usually people stay on a different island like Maui or Oahu. and take a day flight to Molokai,
there is also a ferry that goes between Maui and Molokai, the people of Molokai use it to go to work on Maui.
when i was there i stayed at a motel. and rented a car. i spent the day exploring the island. it sure is a beautiful place. but as i said , there may be but i am not aware of any resort type places there. the only thing i can think of is the molokai hotel in kaunakakai
i did a little looking and found that i was wrong…
if you want a private little cottage , try the “hale kai cottages” but they are about $2000 dollars a week.
