How to check the quality of construction on condos?

How do you know if the building was originally apartments?

If the water is sub-metered, this generally means there was a conversion from Apts. to Condos. As far as the difference or if it matters between the two, they are both about the same. They still look and feel like Apartments.

And, Condo’s usually have hefty HOA fees…..

I would not live in one…..

Will condo prices come down in Downtown Orlando High rises?

With a $12 Billion dollars in condo development/construction in downtown Orlando (condos being are been build, some already finished); Will prices go down in the future due to the vast availability? Currently the prices are in the upper $300′s up to $500 a sq/ft in high rises (such as Sanctuary/Paramount/ 55W/Tradition Towers/Solaris/VUE) and many many more are in development …. Do you think prices are about to tumble? I might be interested when prices become more reasonable!

Doubtful, because places like Orlando are always going to have a strong market. They may stabalize a little , but eventually they will spike back up.

Help – I need to stay in Central Texas for 1 week!?

Okay so my family needs to visit several awesome universities/colleges in the Great state of Texas to help my daughter decide where to go to college. I will need to visit Austin, San Antonio, Waco, College Station, Houston, Dallas & Ft.Worth. I have just about decided to stay in an extended stay hotel probably in Austin. I want to stay somewhere inexpensive ( 50 to 75 per night max for 5 days ) but somewhere I don’t have to worry about my vehicle being safe, etc.
I understand to avoid east Austin – it seems like Round Rock is an Austin Suburb and very safe?
Can anybody offer any suggestions? I have already looked at extended stay motel websites – but obviously they don’t answer the questions I really need answered.
