holiday city
What is a really nice US city to visit for a holiday over the summer?

What is a really nice US city to visit over the summer?

Last year at my job I won a free plane ticket to any major city in the US except for places in Hawaii or Alaska. I am interested in going someplace warm, maybe some place bordering another country, either Canada or Mexico. I really have not traveled in the US very much, so I am curious.

Any ideas? Can you please tell me WHY you would recommend this city?
Oh, sorry. Puerto Rico is included, but I have been there many times because I have family there.

I can think of two cities that are lovely and border other countries:

San Diego – there are tons of things to do and see in San Diego and the red train takes you down to Tijuana. There are beaches and the zoo, and oh yeah, the beaches.

Seattle – Lovely, world class city that is a stone’s throw from Victoria and Vancouver B.C. The Olympic National Rain Forest, the Aquarium, the Space Needle and Pikes Place Market are all wonderful.

french vacation
Which is a good foreign Language to learn during my 4 month vacation?German,Spanish or French?

Spanish has rules for pronunciation of vowels and you can start reading it fairly fast, don’t sound the h. German is not so bad on pronouncing either, but French is like a code in itself. Take the sound
for oh, it has four letters to get there. It is full of idioms, and innuendos, but it sure is pretty. I like the sound of it. Nowadays its kind of prestigeous to speak it, so is German. But Spanish half the world speaks it. That might be an advantage at the right place. Where do you see your self being at could make a big differance in choice. Have fun.
