I live in PA, and am renting a family members new motor home to go on vacation in a few months. My problem is?

that the only thing they asked is that I get insurance coverage on it, which of course I don’t object to, but my auto insurance company doesn’t cover stuff like that. They said they don’t cover vehicles that I rent from someone, that their insurance has to cover it. They have rented the motor home to other people, who’s insurance company did it. Does anyone have any idea of a company that will cover just a rented motor home? I’m only using it for 1 week. Thanks in advance.

Well, you can’t do that.

You can’t insure my car, I can’t insure your car. You can’t buy a policy for a vehicle that you don’t own, or don’t lease for at least 6 months (and you might be asked to show a copy of the lease). Worse, “family member’s” policy doesn’t cover if they rent the motor home to someone else – that’s a business venture.

I’d strongly suspect that whoever was “covering” it before, didn’t have REAL coverage on it – if a claim had happened, everyone else would find out that the insurance company would DENY coverage.
