PLease help, i dont know if this is a scam or not. sweepstakes?
i got a call today from the villages resort sweepstakes in tyler saying i had won when i filled out one of there cards at the mall. they say i get to pick out of these 3 vacations and then get a scratch off when i go up there and win 1 out of the 4 prizes one including a car. its 2 hours away and im wondering if its a scam. please let me know!!
i did get it thorugh the mall. at one of those booths where you just fill out the card and put it in the box. they say you get a free trip no matter what. and then you get a scratch off and see which prize you get out of 4, but you get atlease one. but i just dont know if i should bother considering its a 2 hour drive and i dont want to get suckered into having to buy something.
You might have filled out one of their cards at the mall, only you will know. I would caution against giving information on a card at the mall without understanding clearly what you are getting into. Scam artists operate even in these circumstances.
As you state, you have to go back to claim your prize. This is suspicious. They will probably try to sell you something.
If you do decide to follow through, do not sign anything, do not provide any more information until you know exactly where you stand and read the small print. You have the right to not get involved.
IMHO you will not win the car.
