Alot of of the most fascinating beaches of the Mediterranean happen to be on the blessed island of Corsica.

The 1st time I landed on the island I was dazed by the quite an extinct angelic flower scent of the island, the so called Corsica scent. Leaving the aeroplane and getting the warm sweet smelling air and listening the sound of crickets whistling in the dark was sure a pleasing experience considering that only an hour and a half ago I was looking at the freezing rain and the wind outside the terminal window in good old England.
Sometimes I marvel why a number of us make do with the lovely conditions in Northern Europe and dont relocate to a more friendly climate and a less strenuous culture such as Corsica provides, and thats exactly what I did! .
Nowadays I enjoy waking up in the sunlight 340 days a year and start my day by going into my back garden and picking a fruit of the tree for my breakfast before driving off to my work . Before relocating I was worried how I would possibly afford an apartment in southern France but was enjoyably surprised to find out that when I sold my apartment in London I could afford a nice beach villa only 15 min drive from the air port and a nice ocean view from the terrace and still have over 60.000 pounds left to spend on anything I wished to spend it on! The good thing is I can see my family in back home any time I wish as there is a low cost direct flight to London that simply takes an hour and half.
My following challenge was the language . Like about half of my countrymen I was pressured to learn the language of the neighbors but like the majority of of us could merely ask useful questions regarding penguins. To my surprise I found out that the French language is not that difficult to comprehend for English speakers and that the languages have a few thousands words in common. Practicing the language was not hard at all as nobody here was going to be caught dead speaking English here rather than Englishman speaking French in England although we all learned each others languages back in school.
